"Light and velvety, with lovely detailed red cherry and cranberry aromas and flavours, hinting at citrus peel and white pepper as the finish lingers effortlessly. Drink now through 2015."

Lovely elegant cherry fruit nose, showing bright, fresh aromatics. The palate has freshness and elegance to the bright cherry fruit. Stylish with nice purity.

Wine Anorak, Jamie Goode

Technical Notes:

Alcohol Content: 13.8%

Barrel-aging: 18 months total in French oak barrels (25% new)

Winemaker: Ruud Maasdam

Winemaker’s Notes:

Only handpicked grapes were used for this wine. The grapes underwent both a cold maceration phase before alcoholic fermentation and a post-ferment maceration with the total time on skins across various parcels being a maximum of 45 days. Once complete, the wine was pressed and racked straight to barrel to undergo malo-lactic fermentation.

The wines were then aged on lees until early 2007 when they were blended and returned to barrel.

Tasting Notes:

Colour: Brilliant mid garnet colour.

Aromas: This pinot noir has aromas of ripe black cherries and violets with a lovely earthy complexity

Flavours: This wine was aged in 25% new French oak barrels and 75% older French oak barrels. This has produced a subtle, well structured wine with ripe fruit tannins. Full bodied and elegant this is a wine with great complexity and a lingering finish.
